SUPERKICK Daily Show 2: Fight Forever Impressions

On the most recent episode of The Superkick Daily Show, I gave my first impressions on AEW’s new Fight Forever game. I hadn’t touched the creative suite yet but since have and will give my impressions in my full blown review. I think it’s better than expected, seeing some of the reviews.  Then again, I’m pleased every time Nintendo puts out a new Pokémon game because it has familiarity and stuff I like. Which is what the AEW game is. It’s nuts and bolts and I’m fine with that.  Elsewhere on the show I talk about who I think should win Money in the Bank and a certain wrestling legend calls Will Ospreay the next Shawn Michaels.  Please comment down below any of your feedback and I’d really appreciate if you tune in nightly.

June 28th Dynamite Preview: Sting In Action!

Tonight’s AEW Dynamite takes place live from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. AEW continues their Canadian tour and they’ve got one of the greatest Canadian wrestlers of all time in action. “The Painmaker” Chris Jericho teams up with his protege Sammy Guevara to take on “The Icon” Sting and Darby Allin.  Elsewhere on the show we’ll be getting promos from AEW World Heavyweight Champion, MJF and his stop challenger Adam Cole. You can check out the full preview with full preview of the next Owen Hart Tournament Match: What do you think about the announced rundown? Do you think people will be tuning into see the fallout from Forbidden Door? Please comment below!

Superkick Daily Show June 27th/June 28th - Batista Supposed to go into Hall of Fame This Year

Started my daily show and we’re going to continue this. Every single day. I’m not even kidding. I broke down Carmelo Hayes’ Raw debut, the disappointing Collision rating and Batista’s Hall of Fame claim. You can catch the full first episode right here: Your thoughts on my first episode? What do you think about Kenny Omega’s autograph being featured on the new Sami for Syria shirt? Are you going to purchase that? I talked about that in the episode.  Let’s continue on with this and please keep tuning in!

Bryan Danielson Injury Worse Than Expected

Bryan Danielson’s injury appears to be worst than originally thought according to his wife, Brie Bella/Danielson. She posted on Instagram saying it’s worse than expected and expressed her dissatisfaction with him wrestling 10 minutes after the break.  Danielson wrestled Kazuchika Okada in the main event of Forbidden Door. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer confirmed on Twitter that Bryan fractured his arm with 10 minutes left in the match. Danielson confirmed the unfortunate injury on the Forbidden Door press conference. Fans were hoping he would be available for the yet to be announced Blood and Guts show and for All In at Wembley Stadium in August. According to his wife, that may not happen. Fans will remain hopeful that he can make a recovery for All In. They could always schedule Blood and Guts in September or October. Maybe for Collision to help boost the ratings. According to Fightful, it’s looking like a July 19th date for Blood and Guts, AEW’s debut in Boston. That could easily

Should Natalya Get a Legit Shot at Rhea Ripley

Is WWE misusing Natalya? She’s a bonafide future WWE Hall of Famer and still gets a solid crowd reaction. She’ll once again challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship on next week’s Monday Night Raw.  Natalya’s been challenging Rhea for the Championship on the house show loop and was unsuccessful at last month’s Night of Champions. It was a squash and Natalya deserves more than that. She’s paid her dues to get to the spot she’s in. She’s also wrestled at a proficient level for years. She’s a former Women’s Champion and in my opinion deserves more respect than she’s getting.  She endured a flatulence gimmick and years of poor booking. She didn’t deserve to go out there and lose a quick squash to Rhea Ripley. I think Natalya could be used so much better than she was at that event.  Hopefully next week when she challenges Rhea Ripley it’ll be a much better affair. I think they’d do well if they got 15-20 minutes of TV time. Maybe have Natalya actually look like the credible

AEW Collision Rating Tanks

Would the AEW Collision rating for this week be higher if CM Punk had wrestled a singles match instead of another tag team match? According to Wrestlenomics, the most recent episode of Collision on June 24th averaged 595,000 thousand viewers. That’s a significant drop from the debut which did 832,000 viewers. CM Punk wrestled in another tag team match against Bullet Club Gold. The additions of The Gunn Club and Ricky Starks weren’t enough to maintain the strong start they did the previous week.   Would CM Punk vs Samoa Joe in singles action have been a better idea? Or what about CM Punk vs his Forbidden Door opponent, Satoshi Kojima? Would that have done the same? Who’s to say. I think they would have been better matter main events than what we got.  What if they advertised the fact that Sting would actually be there? We were told we would find out he and Darby’s partner. But the legend Sting made an appearance. That would have been nice to know. It’s always a pleasure seeing Sting on

Is Carmelo Hayes Ready For The Main Roster?

Carmelo Hayes wrestled Finn Balor on Raw last week ahead of Money in the Bank. We saw Seth Rollins head down to NXT to face Bron Breakker and we saw the reverse of that.   Hayes lost to the veteran Balor but looked every bit the part on the main roster. Simply put. He looked like he belonged. WWE has two wrestlers with tons of potential in Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes. They both proved they could hang with the best of the best in WWE.  What do you think about both Hayes’ faring against Balor? Do you think he’s ready for the main roster? I think he could be but who would be the next NXT Champion? Dragon Lee.  It looks like Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes have bright futures with WWE. It’s up to the powers that be. These wrestlers have massive potential though.

Seth Rollins vs Bron Breakker on NXT Tonight Will Be As Good as Any Forbidden Door Match

Tonight on NXT, Seth Rollins returns back to NXT. He defends his recently won World Heavyweight Championship. Seth goes back to where he shined above everyone else and where he was deemed worthy enough to he the first NXT Champion. If Ring of Honor is where he was born and WWE is where he’s matured, then NXT was his angsty adolescence years. Seth was wrestling in NXT before Takeovers were a thing, before NXT became a somewhat household name with Seth Rollins. While he wasn’t there for NXT’s glory years, he certainly paved the way for those years and for those wrestlers to shine.  When you mention NXT Champions, you have to mention Seth. He set the standard and went onto become a massive name. Tonight on NXT, he faces a guy you also have to mention in that conversation. Bron Breakker. Both proved to be worthy Champions.  Bron Breakker is about to ascend to the main roster while Seth Rollins is in the prime of his career. It’s a great story going in. The veteran who’s not going a way for

WWE Should Bring Back King of the Ring As a Full Time PPV

In the world of professional wrestling, tournaments hold a special place, providing a platform for showcasing talent, building storylines, and crowning deserving champions. One such tournament, the King of the Ring, has a rich history and has produced iconic moments and legendary kings. While the prestigious tournament has seen several iterations over the years, making it an annual event with a premium live event dedicated to the crowning of the winner could elevate its status and captivate fans worldwide. Join us as we delve into why WWE's King of the Ring should be a yearly tradition. A Sense of Tradition and Legacy: The King of the Ring tournament has a storied legacy dating back to its inception in 1985. Over the years, it has been a launching pad for numerous superstars, propelling them to greater heights. By establishing it as an annual event, WWE can create a sense of tradition and build upon the tournament's rich history. Fans can eagerly anticipate the return of the
AEW has announced the commentary team for AEW Collision and I love it. Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness team up with Jim Ross to be the voices of wrestling on Saturday nights. I actually think this is a better commentary team than Dynamite. I love JR and always will. Even as he gets older, it's still a gift to hear him call a wrestling match. CM Punk's return wouldn't feel right without Jim Ross broadcasting it. Combo that with long-time Ring of Honor commentator Kevin Kelly, and ROH Legend Nigel McGuinness and you've got quite the show.  Which show has a better commentary team? Collision with this trio or Dynamite with Tony Schiavone, Excalibur and Taz? Curious to see what you guys think. Comment below or on social media!

Tony Khan Announces Collision Theme

The official theme song for AEW Collision is by none other than Sir Elton John! Saturday’s Night Alright for Fighting, baby. If you know me personally, you’ll know Elton John is one of my favourite artists of all time. I’m as unabashed about being an Elton John fan as I am about being a wrestling fan.  So when Tony Khan announced that Saturday’s Night Alright for Fighting is the theme song for their new Saturday show, I popped. Big. I’ve been playing it nonstop which sometimes I’ll do if I’m going out on a Saturday.  Here’s the song if you’ve never heard it. It’s one of my favourites of Elton John because it’s more of a rock song than some of his other songs like Rocket Man and Tiny Dancer.  What do you think about Tony Khan getting the licensing for this amazing song?

Are You More Excited To See Andrade or Miro?

Tonight is the debut of AEW Collision. AEW’s Saturday Night Show that will feature their biggest star, CM Punk. I’m very curious to see how this show will go. We’re going to see the return of both Miro and Andrade tonight. I want to pose the question to you, the reader. Who are you more excited to see tonight, Miro or Andrade? Miro hasn’t wrestled a match since last September at All Out when he teamed up with Darby Allin and Sting to beat The House of Black. Then he went dark. For months. Back in December, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that he turned down a creative pitch. Then with the rumours of AEW Collision, Miro appeared in a backstage segment last month heading into Tony Khan’s office. Thunder Rosa had a similar angle shot for her return.  There was a report from Fightful Select that Andrade was pitched a similar segment to Miro and Thunder Rosa but declined. However, when AEW officially announced Collision he was part of the announcement. The last

Wrestler Birthdays June 16th 2023

Today is June 16th, 2023 and we’re celebrating wrestler birthdays. Join me in wishing the following wrestlers a huge Happy Birthday. Let’s celebrate all of their accomplishments in the wrestling world. ECW legend and multi-time ECW World Champion, The Sandman turns 60 years old today. Happy Birthday to Rezar of the Authors of Pain who turns 29 today.  A huge birthday shout out goes to the next challenger of the NJPW World Championship, Jungle Boy Jack Perry who turns 26 today.  Finally, we remember The Ultimate Warrior on what would have been his 64th birthday, today. Warrior famously main evented Wrestlemania 6 against Hulk Hogan and is one of the most popular wrestlers of all time. Warrior sadly passed away in 2014 after making amends with WWE and going into the WWE Hall of Fame days before his passing. Wish them a happy birthday on social media and please share your favourite memories and moments of them.

June 14th 2023 Wrestler Birthdays!

Happy birthday to Peter Avalon who turns 34 years old and Buzz Sawyer who passed away in 1992 but would be 64 today. We celebrate their life and accomplishments.   Buzz Sawyer is a WWE Hall of Famer who passed away far too soon. He was known for his work in Southern promotions like Georgia Championship Wrestling and Mid-South Wrestling. Buzz Sawyer is perhaps best known for “The Last Battle of Atlanta” against Tommy Rich. A match that featured a steel cage with a roof on it. Which sounds like a modern match “Hell in a Cell”. Shawn Michaels admitted that’s where the inspiration came from. Little piece of wrestling history that influenced so much. Unfortunately Buzz passed away in 1992 at the age of 32 of an accidental overdose.  Peter Avalon of course is best known for his librarian gimmick. He was one of the original signings for AEW in 2019. While floating around the lower-mid to mid-card, Avalon has grown a connection with fans and has flashed signs of charisma. He hasn’t nearly be

Which New Women’s Title Looks Better?

Over the past week, we’ve seen WWE present two new Women’s Championships. The Raw Women’s Championship became the WWE Women’s Championship on last week’s Smackdown. The new Title was presented to the current Champion, Asuka.  Then on this week’s Raw, Rhea Ripley received new hardware as well. The Smackdown Women’s Championship became the Women’s World Championship.  Which design do you think looks better? I like Women’s World Title more. Granted, they’re both pretty much carbon copies of the Men’s World Titles. I liked when Titles had more individuality. I’m not talking about the Divas Title, I mean even like the older Women’s Championship. It looked unique.  What do you think? Comment below your thoughts and let me know if you think these Championship should look different. Or do you like the similarity between them?

June 13th, 2023 Wrestler Birthdays!

Today is June 13th, 2023. Join me in wishing the following wrestlers a giant Happy Birthday! Jacques Rougeau turns 63 years old today. Wrestling fans may remember as part of The Fabulous Rougeau’s. He would go onto have success with Pierre Oulette as The Quebecers, winning the WWF Tag Team Championships 3 times together. Rougeau was also known as The Mountie and even won the WWF Intercontinental Championship. He also beat Hulk Hogan in 1997 cleanly in Montreal. Current wrestling fans can look to Jacques as the man who helped train Kevin Owens.  Virgil turns 61 years old. Known for being Ted Dibiase’s assistant, in a role that wouldn’t play today, Virgil was over with the fans. Virgil would win the WWF Million Dollar Championship. Virgil would go onto WCW to join the nWo, and get a new name “Vincent”. Which was supposedly a shot at Vince McMahon. You can catch Virgil at any random local wrestling convention. He’s a cool guy to get a picture with! Headbanger Thrasher turns 54 years old t

New Bullet Club Gold Members Coming?

Bullet Club Gold (Jay White and Juice Robinson) are set to get new members. According to Fightful, AEW is looking to grow the group and add more wrestlers to the stable. In NJPW, Bullet Club has/had 10+ members at a time. Who’s going to be added to AEW’s iteration of Bullet Club? Here’s a few options.  On this week’s Dynamite, fans saw Jay White beat Ricky Starks thanks to some help from The Gunn Club. From a naming standpoint makes total sense and they have the pedigree to be a legit tag team for Bullet Club Gold. They wouldn’t be the first Multi-Generation wrestler to be part of Bullet Club. Fans have seen Cody Rhodes as part of the group in Japan as well as the son of Scott Hall, Cody.  The other option that presented themselves this week is Samoa Joe. Tony Khan announced that Joe will team up with Jay White and Juice Robinson on Collision‘s debut show on June 17th. Could we see Samoa Joe get added to the group? Get a big time veteran in there who can help the younger members learn

Roman Reigns Introducing NEW Universal Title on Tonight's WWE Smackdown?

In a monumental development that has sent shockwaves through the WWE universe, reports suggest that the company is considering introducing a new championship design for Roman Reigns' Universal Title. As Fightful has reported, the timing couldn't be more fitting, as Reigns may unveil the new design tonight to commemorate his incredible milestone of 1,000 days as the Universal Champion. Drawing inspiration from the past, WWE aims to create a similar buzz and impact to when The Rock introduced the new WWE Title design in 2013 after defeating CM Punk. According to Fightful, WWE wants it to be similar to when The Rock introduced the new WWE Title design back in 2013 after he won the Title from CM Punk. It makes sense to have WWE’s biggest star introduce the new Belt and it’s a fitting time to do it. This should be just as big as The Rock’s unveiling.  With rumors swirling and excitement building, tonight's WWE event holds immense anticipation as fans eagerly await Roman Reign

Tonight's AEW Rampage is STACKED

Tonight’s AEW Rampage has a killer line-up. Four Title matches from 3 different promotions. If I can catch it, I’m really looking forward to Zack Sabre Jr defending his NJPW TV Title against Action Andretti.   Full Lineup El hijo Del Vikingo vs. Komander vs. Dralistico for AAA Mega championship Shibata vs. Lee Moriarty for ROH Pure championship Willow Nightingale vs. Emi Sakura for NJPW Women's Strong championship Zack Sabre Jr vs. Action Andretti for NJPW TV championship What are your thoughts on this? Are people like myself over-hyping this? I think it looks stacked.

Wrestler Birthdays June 2nd, 2023

Today, on June 2nd, 2023, the wrestling world comes together to celebrate the birthdays of several talented individuals who have left their mark on the industry.  From high-flying in-ring skills to charismatic personas, each wrestler brings a unique flavor to the squared circle. Join us in wishing a happy birthday to TNA and future WWE Legend AJ Styles as he turns 46, TNA Knockout pioneer Velvet Sky as she turns 42, the loveable Grado as he turns 35, and WCW Legend and former World Champion, Lex Luger as he turns 65. Happy birthday to these wrestlers! Especially to Buffalo’s own, Lex Luger and to one of my personal favourites, AJ Styles.

Trinity Challenging Deonna Purrazzo at Slammiversary For Knockouts Title

Trinity, also known as the former WWE Superstar Naomi, has wasted no time in making her presence felt in Impact Wrestling. Less than a month after her debut, Trinity has set her sights on the prestigious Impact Knockouts World Championship currently held by the formidable Deonna Purrazzo.  The stage is set for an epic showdown as these two talented competitors go head-to-head at Slammiversary on Saturday, July 15th, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. On last night’s Impact wrestling, Trinity called out Deonna for the Title and she accepted. The match was officially announced for next month’s Slammiversary.  What do you think about Trinity’s time in Impact so far? Are you looking forward to her big Title pursuit?
