  • Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano vs. Alpha Academy
  • Matt Riddle vs. Damian Priest
  • Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins
  • Bianca Belair vs. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Iyo Sky

Raw Start
Raw starts off with a promo from Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka. - 8:03

Damage Control is out and Bayley says that Bianca Belair has been groomed to be a Champion since day one. - 8:06

Bayley has challenged Bianca Belair to a ladder match at Extreme Rules. Presumably she’s accepting. - 8:09

Match starts between Bianca Belair and Iyo Sky. - 8:10

Commercial break as the match starts. - 8:10

We come back and see Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn backstage. Forgot the match actually started as they cut to it. - 8:15

Huge boot from IYO SKY against the Champion as we go into another commercial. SKY stands tall. - 8:19

Back from the break and the women are going back and forth. Bianca almost gets the dub. - 8:24

IYO SKY uses the braid of Bianca Belair which more wrestlers should do. - 8:24

Bianca gets another near fall here. - 8:25

SKY up to the top rope but Bianca rolls through it and uses her super human strength for a Fallaway Slam. - 8:26

Bianca and SKY tussle on the top rope. Ends with an arm drag from IYO SKY as she gains momentum. - 8:27

SKY goes to the top and gets pushed down and out of the ring into her Damage Control arable mates. Bianca into the group! - 8:28

Bianca gets the KOD for the win over IYO SKY. - 8:28

Very good match between Bianca and SKY. - 8:29

Rey Mysterio is backstage and talks about Dominik turning to the Judgement Day. - 8:30

Rey says he isn’t showing any mercy to Seth Rollins tonight because of his past transgressions. Their matchup is next. - 8:31

The Miz is backstage with some security jabronis who he’s dubbing The Miz Force. - 8:36

Seth Rollins comes out for a promo and my home nation’s crowd is humming his theme song. - 8:39

Seth is so over. - 8:40

Has Seth outright turned face? He’s building towards the match with Matt Riddle but he’s coming off way too likeable. - 8:43

There’s the heel trait but not even that bad. He called Rey a coward for not attacking Dominik but he should do something. - 8:44

Rey immediately attacks Rollins so he obviously took that to heart. - 8:45

Seth Rollins is already bloody. I thought Triple H said no blood. - 8:49

Rollins has taken control of this match. - 8:51

Seth looks like he’s toying with Rey but Mysterio’s making a comeback as he gets Rollins with the drop toe hold. - 8:52

Mysterio beats up Rollins in the corner and does the Eddie shimmer. - 8:52

Rollins throws Mysterio out of the ring and Mysterio slid like Titus O’Neil in Saudi Arabia a few years ago. - 8:53

Dominik is out. Mr screen flickered. I wonder if that was intentional or not. - 8:54

Dominik is siding with Seth. Unsurprisingly. - 8:54

There was a glitch and it looks like it was a QR code for a new White Rabbit video. You can catch that here. - 8:57

Rey and Mysterio still going back and forth. - 8:59

Couple of near falls for Rollins here. - 9:01

Both men rumble outside! - 9:02

Mysterio almost gets from the diving splash! Man, Rey really is ageless. - 9:03

Mysterio gets the 619 finally but Rollins goes to the outside. - 9:04

Rollins is back in the ring. - 9:05

Dom gets his dad out and Rhea Ripley hits Rey from behind. - 9:06

Rollins hits the Curb Stomp then makes Rey pass out with the Peruvian Neck Tie. - 9:07

Bobby Lashley and Matt Riddle are backstage talking shop. Lashley wishes Riddle luck against Rollins but says not to interfere in his matches.- 9:08

I’ve been analyzing this White Rabbit video. I love this stuff, guys. Just getting into it. - 9:14

Chad Gable and Otis are out with the USA flag! Big heat for the heels. - 9:15

Gargano and Owens are out and of course Owens is big time over. - 9:16

Gargano and Owens bonded over their joint love of pandas and So-Cal wrestling. - 9:18

I want to see Gargano and Gable again in singles action. - 9:20

Nice little tag move between Gargano and Owens, showing cohesiveness. - 9:20

Otis with a big slam to Johnny Wrestling. - 9:20

Back from commercial and Johnny Gargano/Otis are still in the ring. Nice hot tag to Kevin Owens as he cleans house on the heels. - 9:25

Cannonball into Gable in the corner. 9:25

After a near fall, Kevin Owens goes to the top for a Swanton Bomb and gets met with knees from Gable. - 9:26

Owens locks Chad Gable into the Sharpshooter and I was hoping he’d tap in Canada to Bret’s move. - 9:27

The heels get the momentum back. Owens breaks up a close 2 count but Otis decks him in return. - 9:29

When Otis gets momentum he is hard to stop. He starts taking apart the announcer’s table to. Superkick from Owens to Otis on the table. - 9:29

OWENS HITS AN ELBOW TO OTIS THROUGH THE ANNOUNCER’S TABLE. - 9:30

Gargano looks like he’s about to get the win but Austin Theory is out for the distraction. - 9:30

Gable takes advantage but Gargano kicks out. - 9:30

Gargano almost gets decked by Theory’s briefcase but ducks it and gets back in the ring. - 9:31

Gargano with the DDT on Chad Gable for the win. - 9:31

AJ Styles is backstage and Finn Balor comes up and says Judgement Day is offering his services to him. - 9:33

Back from the break and Theory is running down Chad Gable. Gable takes a shot at Braun Strowman who calls Austin Theory to challenge Gable to a match next week. - 9:40

Omos is out against a couple of jobbers here. - 9:41

Omos needs a big program. He can’t keep facing jobbers. He’s an attraction. - 9:42

The Miz Force has been taken out and Dexter Lumis. Lumis then takes out Miz, chokes him out and starts petting his weird. Not a fan of this angle. - 9:46

Nikki ASH is in the ring. Can Triple H drop this already and fiver her proper ring name back to her? - 9:49

CANDICE LERAE IS BACK AND IS ON MONDAY NIGHT RAW! - 9:50

LeRae of course gets the win and WWE’s Women’s Division looks to be thriving. - 9:53

Sounds like Nikki ASH may have taken her mask off. - 9:54

Logan Paul/Roman Reigns video package. - 9:54

Judgement Day preaches family backstage. - 10:00

Sami Zayn vs AJ Styles is our next match. I hope this gets time. - 10:03

Live Reaction to Candice LeRae’s Return:

Sami is so electric. He corkscrews to AJ outside of the ring. He’s looking like he has some swagger right now. - 10:08

AJ to Sami now on the outside! - 10:09

Back from the break and the two ROH legends are still going back and forth. - 10:13

These are getting the time they deserve as we go to another commercial break. - 10:18

Zayn and Styles back in the ring. Counter after counter. Zayn calling Styles for the Helluva kick but Styles slips out of the ring. - 10:22

Styles gets Zayn into the calf crusher but Zayn gets the break. - 10:23

Sikoa takes out AJ Styles and Zayn capitalizes for the Helluva kick and win over AJ. - 10:25

The Judgement Day didn’t appear during the match but are here after. - 10:26

Finn’s trying to get Styles to join the group again. They should just split off and reform the Bullet Club. Forget about this Judgement Day nonsense. - 10:28

I’d be so hopeful for a return right now if Candice LeRae didn’t literally just come back. - 10:28

Finn holds up the Too Sweet hand sign and AJ gives him the finger. - 10:29

Judgement Day beats up Styles and nobody helps out Styles because he’s alone. He’s alone, eh? You know who his buddies were? Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. - 10:30

Damage Control get into it with the faces including Candice LeRae backstage. - 10:35

Matt Riddle and Damian Priest starts now. - 10:38

Nice exchange here between the two friends. They’re having a solid match so far. 10:41

Back from commercial break and we see Priest nailing Riddle spine first onto the barricade wall. - 10:47

The Judgement Day is like a group of piranhas on the outside. Waiting to nip at Matt Riddle. - 10:48

Matt Riddle and Damian Priest are having a very good match. - 10:49

They’re using an MMA style as we’ve seen a lot of hard hitting action. Near fall from Riddle. - 10:55

Riddle gets the win with a roll up after Judgement Day distracts the red. Riddle with the win out of nowhere. - 10:57

The heels start beating up on Riddle after the match and Edge’s music hits. - 10:58

Edge comes out in front of his home country and clears house. 10:58

Edge challenges Finn Balor to an I Quit Match at Extreme Rules. 10:59

Raw goes off the air with Edge in front of a crowd who was able to come alive for him. 11:00

Final Thoughts

I thought Raw was very good tonight. Here’s some final thoughts on the show overall:

  •  Bianca and IYO SKY had a really good opener that got a lot of time.
  •  Gargano and Owens showed good chemistry as a tag team.
  • Sami Zayn and AJ Styles got a good amount of time and delivered a really hot match like they should.
  • Candice LeRae being back is sweet and it enhances an already top tier women’s division on Raw.
  • It sounds like the White Rabbit will definitely be Bray. The video tonight lead to a zip code in Kentucky. Where there’s a Wyndham Hotel. Wyndham - Windham - Bray Wyatt.
  • Matt Riddle and Damian Priest stole the show for me. I’m not sure if that’s because my expectations were lower and they over delivered or if it was better than AJ/Sami. I really enjoyed it!
Thanks for reading and watching along as I watch through the Triple H era in WWE.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
