Why and How Sami Zayn Should Win World Title in Montreal

WWE announced that Elimination Chamber will be happening in Montreal, Quebec, Canada this coming February. It’s the first time in 14 years that a WWE PPV/PLE is running in Montreal.

Montreal of course is where the Montreal Screwjob took place. It’s also the hometown of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. I think it would be a perfect place to take one of the World Titles off of Roman Reigns and put it one of these guys.

Today, I’ll be talking about the potential of Sami Zayn winning the World Title in Montreal. I’ll be doing another blog, tomorrow about Kevin Owens winning it instead.

Imagine the pop of Sami Zayn winning the World Title in Montreal. In front of his home audience with maybe a dirty finish that the crowd will eat up. I know everyone loves when they recreate the Screwjob, BUT it could play in a different way.

This is strictly fantasy booking and I’m trying to come up with blog ideas that aren’t just news dumps so here’s inside my brain. Maybe you have Roman looking dominate over Sami and he goes for the pin and the Bloodline turns against him.

The Bloodline sides with Sami Zayn of all people. Roman’s family turns against him because of how he’s treated them for the past 2 and a half years. It’s been the Roman Reigns show and they wanted to humble him.

So like a pack of wolves, the Bloodline, Solo Sikoa, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso attack the Big Dog, Roman Reigns. They leave him laying and Sami Zayn picks up the win. Sami Zayn wins his first World Championship in front of his hometown and his joined by his best friends.

Speaking of best friends, let’s have Kevin Owens win an Elimination Chamber match to become the #1 contender for Sami Zayn’s WWE Championship. Zayn and Owens get the massive reactions they deserve and it sets up a logical program with them.

As for Roman Reigns, the real Head of the Table, The Rock has to stop by and sort his family out. Talk some sense into them and ask how they let Sami Zayn beat the most dominate Champion in WWE history.

Let me know if you dig my idea or if you think it stinks! Keep following on Twitter for more wrestling content that you want to see.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
