It's no secret that WWE's Mixed Match Challenge was a hit with fans when it first premiered back in 2018. The innovative tournament, which featured male and female wrestlers teaming up in mixed tag team matches, was a refreshing change of pace from the usual singles competition and offered a chance for wrestlers of different genders to showcase their skills and tell unique stories in the ring.
Unfortunately, WWE decided to put the Mixed Match Challenge on hiatus after its second season, much to the disappointment of fans. But with the recent mixed tag team match on Smackdown between Madcap Moss and Emma taking on Karrion Kross and Scarlett, it's clear that there is still a appetite for this type of competition.
Not only do mixed tag team matches offer a chance for wrestlers of different genders to work together and build new rivalries, they also provide an opportunity for WWE to showcase its diverse roster and break down traditional gender roles in the wrestling world.
In a time where representation and inclusivity are more important than ever, the Mixed Match Challenge would be a perfect platform to showcase WWE's commitment to these values.
In short, bringing back the Mixed Match Challenge would not only be a great move for WWE creatively, but it would also send a positive message to its fans about the company's commitment to diversity and inclusivity. Here's hoping we see the return of this exciting tournament in the near future.
