Exploring Potential Buyers for WWE

In recent weeks, rumors have been circulating that WWE may be up for sale, with several potential buyers being mentioned as possible suitors for the iconic wrestling organization. Among the names being mentioned as potential buyers are NBC Comcast, The Saudi Arabian Public Interest Fund, and Disney. Today I'm going to explore those potential buyers.

First, let's take a look at NBC Comcast. The media giant already has a strong relationship with WWE, as they currently air WWE's weekly shows, "Monday Night Raw" and "Friday Night SmackDown," on their USA Network. This existing relationship could potentially make the negotiations for a sale smoother, as both parties already have a working relationship in place. Additionally, NBC Comcast's vast resources and reach could be beneficial for WWE, as they would have the ability to expand WWE's reach and exposure even further.

Next, let's consider The Saudi Arabian Public Interest Fund. The Saudi government has a long history of investing in sports and entertainment, including their involvement in the WWE's Crown Jewel event. The Saudi government's deep pockets could potentially make them a serious contender for the purchase of WWE. However, the Saudi government has been known to be controversial and their human rights record has been criticized.

Finally, there is Disney, the entertainment giant that already owns a number of sports and entertainment properties, including ESPN and the Star Wars franchise. Disney's vast resources and reach could be beneficial for WWE, as they would have the ability to expand WWE's reach and exposure even further. Additionally, Disney's family-friendly image could potentially help WWE to expand their reach to a younger audience.

It's worth mentioning that Vince McMahon, the CEO of WWE, has returned to negotiate the supposed sale despite stepping down from the company. It's uncertain if he will remain in the position but it can be speculated that he wants to ensure that the company's legacy and reputation are protected.

In conclusion, the rumors of WWE being up for sale have sparked interest in several potential buyers, including NBC Comcast, The Saudi Arabian Public Interest Fund, and Disney. While all three of these potential buyers have their own unique strengths and weaknesses, it will be interesting to see which company ultimately ends up purchasing WWE. Only time will tell what the future holds for the iconic wrestling organization.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How t...

If John Cena Beats Cody Rhodes he Technically Becomes an 18-Time World Champion

John Cena won the Elimination Chamber on Saturday night and secured an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania this April. What followed was a shocking heel turn that fans have wanted for years. That’s not what I’m talking about here. We’re talking about how John Cena will technically become an 18-time World Champion if he beats Cody Rhodes. That would put him two ahead of Ric Flair.  Ever since Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar to unify the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship. From that point on, WWE recognized Roman as having two Championship reigns. With the Universal Championship and with the WWE Championship. Same with Cody Rhodes when he beat Reigns for the Undisputed Championship at last year’s WresteMania. If you look at WWE’s website it shows two concurrent reigns for Cody.  If Cena beats Cody it’s always possible that WWE in the future recognizes this as one World Title reign instead of two. There’s a few of Flair’s reign...

Bobby Lashley Issues Warning to Jon Moxley

Bobby Lashley debuted in All Elite Wrestling on October 30th last year, rejoining his former WWE stablemates MVP and Shelton Benjamin, forming The Hurt Syndicate. Lashley and The Hurt Syndicate are one of the hottest acts in AEW right now with Lashley and Benjamin winning the World Tag Team Titles last month. It’s inevitable that Bobby Lashley will get a World Championship shot at some point. He’s very over right now and a legit main event talent.  Lashley gave a warning to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley when speaking to the Sporting Tribune . Lashley said it’s only a matter of time till they face off but he’s focused on his tag team right now. Lashley said that when Jon Moxley sees him in the locker room, he stays clear of him.  Despite being cheered like a babyface, Bobby Lashley is a heel and Jon Moxley is also a heel so I don’t see them facing off soon. But I like the idea of a Moxley/Lashley match whether it’s for the Title or not. Saying that, I’d also be a fan of Bo...
