Tony Khan Appearing on This Week's AEW Dynamite

Tony Khan, AEW's head, will be making an appearance on the upcoming Dynamite show. The announcement was made during Saturday's AEW Rampage, and while it's not being billed as a major announcement, fans are eagerly anticipating what Khan has in store.

Speculation is running rampant as to what the news could be about, with some fans predicting that it could be related to the potential return of wrestling superstar CM Punk. Rumors have been circulating for weeks now that Punk will be coming back to AEW, and with the recent rumours about a new Saturday Night Show on TNT, fans are wondering if this could be the big news that Khan is set to reveal.

I think Tony Khan is going to come out to rally the troops. I'd be shocked if it's anything big. Maybe just a way to try and spike the ratings like Vince McMahon used to do. That won't stop people from speculating about CM Punk's potential return to AEW. We haven't seen Punk since the All Out press conference when he called out some key figures in the AEW locker room.

Of course, there's no guarantee that the news is related to Punk at all. Khan could have a completely different announcement in store for fans, and the anticipation and speculation only serve to highlight the excitement surrounding AEW at the moment.

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show. WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released. We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released. In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents." This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company.
