Why Isn't Naomi in NJPW?

According to a report from Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Naomi is not yet in NJPW/Stardom due to NJPW needing to keep spending down. According to Dave, the pressure is on from Bushiroad to not cool the spending on wrestling. It makes sense considering, her former tag team partner, Mercedes Monè/Sasha Banks commanded a lot of money.

The news has left fans wondering about Naomi’s future in wrestling. Will she return to WWE, or perhaps sign with another major promotion like AEW? There are many factors to consider when weighing the possibilities.

Firstly, Naomi is an established name in WWE and has a strong following among fans. She has held multiple championships and has been a popular presence on WWE programming for years. A return to WWE could provide her with new opportunities, storylines, and potentially another championship reign.

On the other hand, AEW has been making waves in the wrestling world since its inception. The promotion has already signed several former WWE stars and has been gaining momentum with fans. Naomi could potentially be a valuable addition to their roster and could help solidify their women's division.

However, with the news of financial pressure within Bushiroad's wrestling division, it remains to be seen if Naomi will make the move to NJPW/Stardom. It is possible that she may have to wait for the right opportunity to present itself before making a decision.

Regardless of where Naomi ends up, her talent and popularity make her a valuable asset to any promotion. Her future in wrestling is uncertain at this time, but fans are eagerly waiting to see where she lands next.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
