Kota Ibushi and Pac Announced for AEW Blood and Guts

Kota Ibushi was announced as the final member of the The Elite as they face The Blackpool Combat Club on next week’s Dynamite from Boston. Kota Ibushi joins The Elite to form the Golden Elite at Blood and Guts. They’ll be taking on the Blackpool Combat Club in Blood and Guts.

Kota Ibushi teams with Kenny Omega, “Hangman” Adam Page and The Young Bucks to take on the Blackpool Combat Club/Don Callis Family which added Pac as its final member. Pac teams up with Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Konsuke Takeshita and Claudio Castagnoli.

What did you think of the announcements? I expected Kota Ibushi to be the final member of The Elite. But was pretty disappointed in Pac being the announced as the final BCC guy. I was hoping it would be someone like Chris Jericho. Or maybe an international star. Which Pac is but we’re so used to him at this point. I think he’ll do a great job in the match but was hoping the announcement would be bigger than Pac.

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show. WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released. We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released. In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents." This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company.
