What’s Next for Brian Pillman Jr?

Brian Pillman Jr is reportedly finished with All Elite Wrestling. Fans noticed he’s been removed from the AEW roster page online. PWInsider confirms that Pillman Jr is finished up with the company for now but the door is open for a return.

I like Pillman Jr but could use some more developing and seasoning before becoming a polished product. It takes wrestlers years to become a full blown finished product. He’s shown flashes and I think his ability to tell a story is coming along. Although he has a ways to go technically. Although he can absolutely work on that.

I liked when he had that small feud with MJF. Pillman Jr clearly isn’t on his level but he doesn’t need to be. The son of a legendary wrestler that fans loved who was taken away too soon is a great story to tell. I didn’t think they fully capitalized on that.

Fans have also said they should have paired him more with Brock Anderson, the son of Arn. We saw it teased but never fully realized. Which is a shame because I think they would have worked as a babyface team similar to Pillman’s dad and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Brock should have been part of the Varsity Blondes team with Arn as manager. I think Brock Anderson would have been much better than Griff Garrison.

What’s next for Brian Pillman Jr? Will he go to WWE or will he head back to AEW? I suggest going to Impact Wrestling to continue to hone his skills and develop. I think there’s another gear that he can hit. I’m hoping at least. If you watched The Dark Side of the Ring on his dad, you saw the struggles this guy went through. Struggles he had to go through without his father. I promise you that if you watch that, you’ll have no other choice but to root for him.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
