Would Trinity Ever Join Back Up With Mercedes Monè?

Trinity’s expressing interest in reuniting with her former WWE Tag Team Champion partner, Mercedes Monè. The former Naomi and Sasha Banks both departed WWE over the past year. Their now famous walkout proved to not be a work. Sasha Banks now going by Mercedes Monè debuted for New Japan Pro Wrestling earlier this year. While Naomi now going by her real first name Trinity made her Impact Wrestling debut in April.

Speaking to the New York Post, Trinity said that if something works for both of them in the future they’ll do it.

“I’ll always do what’s best for her, what’s best for me and what’s best for the business. If it’s something that comes up that makes sense for the both of us, hell yeah.”

A lot of fans probably expected them to show up somewhere together at first. I thought Trinity would show up alongside Mercedes’ side in a matter of months. That didn’t happen. Instead, Trinity signed a deal with Impact Wrestling. Where she’s a big fish in a small pond. Impact does have a working relationship with NJPW so perhaps that’s how we get to see Trinity and Mercedes reunite.

Ultimately though I think they’ll end up both back in WWE. They have connections there and friends. I think once the dust settles with everything, they’ll eventually both be back. The relationship isn’t as sour as WWE’s was with CM Punk when he walked out. The fact that Trinity is married to one of the top stars in the company (Jimmy Uso) makes me believe this even more.

Do you think we’ll see them team up outside of WWE for a match? Or do you think that’s out of the question? Curious to see your thoughts. Comment either or hit me up on Twitter.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
