Kenny Omega Set to Team With Kota Ibushi and Hangman Page at All In

Kenny Omega has his All In match. Much to fans chagrin, it’s a trios match instead of a singles match. Kenny’s teaming with his pals “Hangman” Adam Page and Kota Ibushi to take on Konosuke Takeshita, Jay White and Juice Robinson. At AEW All In from Wembley. I’d rather see a Takeshita and Kenny Omega singles match. I think that would be a better spotlight for both wrestlers.

The match was setup on this week’s Dynamite when Don Callis and Takeshita ambushed Kenny Omega during his sit down interview off-site with Jim Ross. Jay White and Juice Robinson of Bullet Club Gold joined in on the beatdown. Post beatdown, Adam Page appeared outside of Kenny’s hospital room and announced the match for All In at Wembley Stadium.

While I do think, a singles match for Kenny Omega would be a better option for him, I know for a fact these six will tear the house down. It could easily be match of the night from a wrestling standpoint.

It’s extremely possible and maybe even likely that we’ll see Omega and Takeshita in a singles match at All Out the following week from Chicago. If AEW is going to push Takeshita as a future face of the company, they need to make that match happen.

As for now, I’m sure we’re going to get a tremendous trios match with 6 of the top wrestlers in the world. These guys are familiar with each other from their days in Japan so the chemistry is going to be there. It absolutely has the potential to be the most talked about match on the card coming out, despite my disappointment in the match announcement.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
