CJ Perry FKA Lana With AEW on Short-Term Basis Per Tony Khan

CJ Perry formerly known as Lana in WWE made her AEW debut at All Out this past weekend. After much speculation, she’s finally joined her husband Miro, the former Rusev in the promotion. It looks like they’ll be doing a program together although they may not be on the same page.

The crowd at the United Center in Chicago was already buzzing with excitement as Miro her husband took on Powerhouse Hobbs in a hard-hitting showdown. However, no one could have predicted what would happen next. After Miro secured the victory over Hobbs, the arena erupted into cheers as CJ Perry made her way to the ring. “Hot and Flexible” appeared on the screen as the former Lana came out.

Holding a steel chair in her hand, Perry wasted no time in making her presence felt. She viciously attacked Powerhouse Hobbs with the chair, unleashing a brutal assault that left fans in awe and disbelief. What made this moment even more captivating was the fact that Miro didn't join in on the attack. Instead, he left the scene, leaving fans with more questions than answers.

The unexpected nature of CJ Perry's AEW debut immediately sparked speculation and intrigue among wrestling enthusiasts. Was she aligning herself with Miro, or did her actions signal a different direction? The absence of Miro's involvement only added to the mystery, leaving fans wondering what could be in store for both Perry and Miro in AEW.

As fans eagerly anticipated answers, AEW's President and CEO, Tony Khan, shed some light on the situation during the All Out post-show press conference. He revealed that CJ Perry's appearance at All Out was not a long-term commitment. This revelation left many fans intrigued about the short-term plan for her character in AEW.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
