Should WWE Start Inducting Matches into the Hall of Fame?

The WWE Hall of Fame inducts wrestlers, managers, announcers, contributors, promoters, tag teams and stables. What if they started inducting matches into the Hall of Fame like UFC does? UFC started inducting matches into their Hall of Fame in 2013 with Forrest Griffin vs Stephan Bonnar being the first fight honoured.

Should WWE start inducting matches? What match would be the first to go in?

The first match I would induct into the WWE Hall of Fame is Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25. This match is perfect in my opinion. Five stars anywhere in the world if I’m giving out star rankings. It stands the test of time and features two of the most legendary wrestlers of all time. If WWE’s looking for the perfect first match to induct, I think this is it. Fans are still talking about this years later and is fondly remembered by fans and wrestlers alike. It’s the perfect first induction if they decide to do this.

Other matches that could go in are Ricky Steamboat vs Randy Savage from WrestleMania 3, Bret Hart vs Steve Austin from WrestleMania 13, Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle from WrestleMania 21 and Shawn vs Taker at WrestleMania 26. So many great options to choose from and I’m obviously forgetting some classics. I’ll do a full video on this in the future, I think it could be fun.

Would you like to see WWE start inducing classic matches into the Hall of Fame? We could see matches from WCW, ECW, Mid-South, Championship Wrestling from Florida, American Wrestling Association amongst other promotions from the past. Not just WWE. They own an immense tape library and they could certainly put some of the greatest matches of all time into the Hall of Fame.

Give me your thoughts on this. Will WWE follow what the UFC’s been doing for years? They’re owned by the same company now so it may make sense if they’re looking for more integration of the products.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
