WWE announced today that Brock Lesnar will be on the February 23rd episode of Raw from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Wrestling fans haven't seen Brock since January 31st's Royal Rumble, when he unsuccessfully vied to win the Rumble for the 3rd time in his career.
Brock is sure to be setting up his match for WrestleMania in April. Who he will face? Many wrestling fans are salivating over the idea of Oba Femi challenging "The Beast" in a changing of the guard match. Femi is viewed by some fans as "The Next Brock Lesnar" and a match between the two would put Femi on the map. They had a confrontation at the Royal Rumble and Brock eliminated Femi. The Rumble has been used to set up future matchups outside of the World Championship, for example Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle from the 2005 Royal Rumble. Was Brock eliminating Oba Femi a tease for an upcoming match? We'll see. I'd like to present a different option.
"The Social Media Superstar" himself, Logan Paul. Logan Paul, like it or not is one of the most athletic competitors in WWE and he's young enough to reap the benefits of a Brock Lesnar match. Logan's also being managed by Brock's former advocate, Paul Heyman so there's a connection there. Logan can generate interest in the match through his social media channels and Brock's a big enough name that more people may check it out.
Most fans would want to see Brock Lesnar take on Oba Femi in a passing of the torch match, but does WWE want to go to the match so soon? Logan Paul makes a ton of sense for Brock's Mania matchup and then maybe we get Brock and Oba down the line at SummerSlam or WrestleMania next year.
