Let’s Pump The Brakes on the CM Punk Contract Buyout

Let’s pump the brakes on the talk about AEW buying out CM Punk’s contract.

Wade Keller appeared on a podcast over at https://vip.pwtorch.com/ and said that it’s noteworthy that CM Punk wasn’t included in the list of Ring of Honor’s World Champions last night. Keller would go onto say that he doesn’t expect CM Punk in AEW and that his contract would be bought out.

I take a bit of issue with that and you can tell me in denial but I don’t think CM Punk is done. There’s speculation that CM Punk will come back and become a 10x Champion. Will it happen? Probably not but I’m speculating about it. Just like Wade is, I’m taking a guess.

My good ol’ pal, Webster leant me this definition of speculation:

It’s a theory. The reason why CM Punk wasn’t mentioned last night was because there’s an ongoing investigation with his employer. It’s being conducted by a third party and AEW wouldn’t want to do anything to jeopardize that. Especially if this is being blown out of proportion.

I’ve seen so many people talk about Wade speaking about this as gospel. It probably wasn’t even his intent to do that but it’s being spoken about as gospel.

If John Cena Beats Cody Rhodes he Technically Becomes an 18-Time World Champion

John Cena won the Elimination Chamber on Saturday night and secured an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania this April. What followed was a shocking heel turn that fans have wanted for years. That’s not what I’m talking about here. We’re talking about how John Cena will technically become an 18-time World Champion if he beats Cody Rhodes. That would put him two ahead of Ric Flair. Ever since Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar to unify the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship. From that point on, WWE recognized Roman as having two Championship reigns. With the Universal Championship and with the WWE Championship. Same with Cody Rhodes when he beat Reigns for the Undisputed Championship at last year’s WresteMania. If you look at WWE’s website it shows two concurrent reigns for Cody. If Cena beats Cody it’s always possible that WWE in the future recognizes this as one World Title reign instead of two. Bobby Lashley Issues Warning to Jon Moxley

Bobby Lashley debuted in All Elite Wrestling on October 30th last year, rejoining his former WWE stablemates MVP and Shelton Benjamin, forming The Hurt Syndicate. Lashley and The Hurt Syndicate are one of the hottest acts in AEW right now with Lashley and Benjamin winning the World Tag Team Titles last month. It’s inevitable that Bobby Lashley will get a World Championship shot at some point. He’s very over right now and a legit main event talent. Lashley gave a warning to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley when speaking to the Sporting Tribune . Lashley said it’s only a matter of time till they face off but he’s focused on his tag team right now. Lashley said that when Jon Moxley sees him in the locker room, he stays clear of him. Despite being cheered like a babyface, Bobby Lashley is a heel and Jon Moxley is also a heel so I don’t see them facing off soon.
