The ratings are in for Friday’s WWE Smackdown on Fox and AEW’s Rampage on TNT. Provided by Brandon Thurston on Twitter. The stats legend of the wrestling world.
Smackdown
2,535,000 viewers
P 18 - 49 rating: 0.63
AEW Rampage (2-hour special)
Hour 1: 558,000; P 18 - 49 rating: 0.18
Hour 2: 486,000; P 18 - 49 rating: 0.16
It was an exciting night in wrestling and both shows reflect that. Smackdown increased their viewership from the previous week (2,212,000 viewers) to 2,535,000 viewers this week. AEW’s Rampage Grand Slam special also got an uptick. They had 470,000 viewers last week and averaged 522,000 across both hours.
Both shows went up, which is great for wrestling. You have to be happy if you’re Triple H and WWE. I wonder how Tony Khan will feel about the Rampage number. For a taped show to get that many viewers without any Title matches I think is a win. I wonder how it would have done if it was live.
Overall, it was a great night in wrestling and the ratings did in fact reflect that. Both shows overall delivered. I’ll be live Tweeting and blogging Raw tonight so let’s hope it can perform better than last week.
