WWE Smackdown September 23rd Live Blog

Doing a live blog for tonight’s WWE Smackdown show.

To start off, Roman Reigns is opening the show. Probably building towards the match against Logan Paul. Can’t wait to hear from the Tribal Chief! - 8:04

Everyone but Sami Zayn is out in the new We Ones Shirt. Roman’s about to talk. - 8:06

Paul Heyman is so good at hyping guys up. Solo Sikoa looks like the guy you don’t want to mess with. - 8:11

Roman’s initiating Solo into the Bloodline officially! No resistance from the young enforcer from his Tribal Chief! - 8:13

Sami Zayn is that friend who’s not really part of the group but you keep him around because he’s chill enough. - 8:15

Roman’s looking like he’s going to turn on Sami and drop him from his group. 9:17

Looks like we’re about to get a turn/split but Roman accepts Sami into the group!  - 8:19

Liv Morgan’s out to face Lacey Evans. I like Liv Morgan, man. I think she’s been doing a fine job as Champion. - 8:24

Lacey Evans is looking dominate. They have to figure out what to do with her because there’s something there. - 8:27

Liv Morgan barely wins. I’d like to see a more dominaye win. Liv teasing with the kendo stick but doesn’t. - 8:33

Liv’s getting the tables! - 8:34

Liv hit the senton to Lacey Evans through the table! - 9:35

Sami Zayn’s backstage pushing around catering already haha! - 8:43

Ricochet and Madcap Moss confront Sami Zayn backstage about being part of the bloodline. Solo Sikoa from out of nowhere attacks they baby faces. - 8:44

Solo Sikoa’s like your one friend who takes it way too far when hanging. This is why the Bloodline is brilliant. - 8:44

The New Day’s taking on Maximum Male Models. Guess we’re going to see something crazy post match. - 8:51

The Maximum Male Models are a pretty harmless fun  tag team. I dig them  - 8:53

New Day gets the quick dub  - 8:53

Max just had a hissy fit. Is that it? - 8:54

WWE’s reinforcing the ring. Is Otis going through it? - 8:56

I really missed Braun Strowman. So happy he’s back. - 9:00

Can you guys believe that Otis won Money in the Bank? - 9:02

Braun’s obviously going to beat Otis but I’d like to see my dog, Otis get in some offence. - 9:04

Chad Gable is hilarious. 9:04

Otis is a good dance partner for Braun Strowman. May be a line dance but a decent dance is still a decent match. - 9:05

You’re seeing a fridge take on a grizzly bear. - 9:05

What a pounce onto Otis! - 9:06

That match was everything it needed to be. Braun gets the win and It was a fun, hyped up match. I dug it! - 9:10

I can’t wait to hear Michael Cole talk about Josh Allen. - 9:14

Drew McIntyre is easily the guy I’d like to grab a beer with the most in wrestling. - 9:18

Karrion Kross is out and his presentation is a million times better than the stuff Vince had him get doing. - 9:19

Drew starts beating up on Karrion Kross with the strap! I love a good ol’ strap match. - 9:20

Fireball from Scarlett and a cheap shot! Two on one. Hard to defend that. - 9:21

Kross goes crazy on Drew and starts to leave. Drew starts to get up but Kross turns back and locks in the choke to subdue McIntyre even further. Dominate. - 9:22

It’s 9:23 and we’re on commercial… - 9:23

Damage Control has a ridiculous theme haha. - 9:27

I think Raquel Rodriguez has so much potential. I think I’ve talked about that before. I can’t wait to see her take on Charlotte. - 9:29

Shotzi’s out and Raguel Rodriquez gets the win with the roll up! - 9:30

Sheamus vs Gunther for the Intercontinental Title has been announced for 2 weeks from tonight. - 9:36

The Uso’s vs Ridge Holland and Butch for the Titles is next. - 9:38

I love that this is going to Sami’s head! - 9:46

Heading into commercial which means I get to post my video in here about Bobby Fish’s impact debut! - 9:47

Jey has been jealous of the honorary Uce, Sami Zayn and it’ll cause him problems. - 9:51

Ridge is tuning up the band! - 9:52

Great main event honestly. Ridge is doing his thing, man. He’ll be in Sheamus/Drew territory eventually. - 9:56

Imperium is out to interrupt the match and the challengers get distracted by them. - 9:56

The Uso’s take advantage and get the win. - 9:57

No White Rabbit tease unless you count Karrion Kross being dominate at 9:22. Join me as I recap Rampage Grand Slam next!

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How t...

If John Cena Beats Cody Rhodes he Technically Becomes an 18-Time World Champion

John Cena won the Elimination Chamber on Saturday night and secured an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania this April. What followed was a shocking heel turn that fans have wanted for years. That’s not what I’m talking about here. We’re talking about how John Cena will technically become an 18-time World Champion if he beats Cody Rhodes. That would put him two ahead of Ric Flair.  Ever since Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar to unify the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship. From that point on, WWE recognized Roman as having two Championship reigns. With the Universal Championship and with the WWE Championship. Same with Cody Rhodes when he beat Reigns for the Undisputed Championship at last year’s WresteMania. If you look at WWE’s website it shows two concurrent reigns for Cody.  If Cena beats Cody it’s always possible that WWE in the future recognizes this as one World Title reign instead of two. There’s a few of Flair’s reign...

Bobby Lashley Issues Warning to Jon Moxley

Bobby Lashley debuted in All Elite Wrestling on October 30th last year, rejoining his former WWE stablemates MVP and Shelton Benjamin, forming The Hurt Syndicate. Lashley and The Hurt Syndicate are one of the hottest acts in AEW right now with Lashley and Benjamin winning the World Tag Team Titles last month. It’s inevitable that Bobby Lashley will get a World Championship shot at some point. He’s very over right now and a legit main event talent.  Lashley gave a warning to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley when speaking to the Sporting Tribune . Lashley said it’s only a matter of time till they face off but he’s focused on his tag team right now. Lashley said that when Jon Moxley sees him in the locker room, he stays clear of him.  Despite being cheered like a babyface, Bobby Lashley is a heel and Jon Moxley is also a heel so I don’t see them facing off soon. But I like the idea of a Moxley/Lashley match whether it’s for the Title or not. Saying that, I’d also be a fan of Bo...
