AEW Dynamite Fun Facts: October 12th, 2012


AEW is making their Canadian debut tonight.  I’ve compiled a few fun facts and I think I’ll be doing this before every every show. Fun facts that relate to the show that’s happening that night. 


  1. Today is the 30th anniversary of Bret Hart winning the WWF Championship for the first time. Where’d it happen? Canada, the country that AEW is debuting in. 
  2. 2022 marks the 10 year anniversary of the first ROH Border Wars show.
  3. This is the first non-WWE wrestling show to run at the Coca Cola Coliseum since TNA did on June 17th, 2011.
  4. Bryan Danielson challenges Chris Jericho for the Ring of Honor World Championship tonight. The last time he challenged for the Title was 13 years ago when he lost to Austin Aries on September 19th, 2009. 
  5. This is the first time the AEW All Atlantic Title will be defended on International soil since PAC defended against Connor Mills in the UK at RevPro Summer Sizzler on July 23rd, 2022.

If John Cena Beats Cody Rhodes he Technically Becomes an 18-Time World Champion

  John Cena won the Elimination Chamber on Saturday night and secured an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania this April. What followed was a shocking heel turn that fans have wanted for years. That’s not what I’m talking about here. We’re talking about how John Cena will technically become an 18-time World Champion if he beats Cody Rhodes. That would put him two ahead of Ric Flair.  Ever since Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar to unify the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship. From that point on, WWE recognized Roman as having two Championship reigns. With the Universal Championship and with the WWE Championship. Same with Cody Rhodes when he beat Reigns for the Undisputed Championship at last year’s WresteMania. If you look at WWE’s website it shows two concurrent reigns for Cody.  If Cena beats Cody it’s always possible that WWE in the future recognizes this as one World Title reign instead of two. Bobby Lashley Issues Warning to Jon Moxley

Bobby Lashley debuted in All Elite Wrestling on October 30th last year, rejoining his former WWE stablemates MVP and Shelton Benjamin, forming The Hurt Syndicate. Lashley and The Hurt Syndicate are one of the hottest acts in AEW right now with Lashley and Benjamin winning the World Tag Team Titles last month. It’s inevitable that Bobby Lashley will get a World Championship shot at some point. He’s very over right now and a legit main event talent.  Lashley gave a warning to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley when speaking to the Sporting Tribune . Lashley said it’s only a matter of time till they face off but he’s focused on his tag team right now. Lashley said that when Jon Moxley sees him in the locker room, he stays clear of him.  Despite being cheered like a babyface, Bobby Lashley is a heel and Jon Moxley is also a heel so I don’t see them facing off soon.
