AEW Wrestlers In Video Promoting Raw XXX

WWE celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw. Their flagship show. WWE released a video hyping tonight’s show and you see quite a bit of wrestlers who are now in AEW. It’s impossible to tell the story of Monday Night Raw without a lot of these wrestlers. You can see/hear the following AEW wrestlers in the preview for tonight’s WWE Raw XXX.

The following wrestlers/personalities appeared in the video promoting Raw tonight. Jim Ross’ iconic voice is heard, then you see the following things: Mark Henry in bed with Mae Young, Christian striking a five-second pose with Edge, Billy Gunn and D-Generation X celebrating Mick Foley's WWE Championship win, Big Show/Paul Wight breaking a ring with Braun Strowman, and Matt Sydal/Evan Bourne receiving a devastating RKO from mid-air as he attempts his signature Shooting Star Press. There are also clips featuring Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley/Dean Ambrose.

Notably missing from the video is former WWE Champion, CM Punk. Punk is one of the most controversial stars in wrestling history and it looks like WWE is still acting persona non grata with Punk. I’d argue you can’t tell the history of Monday Night Raw without CM Punk and his pipe bomb promo.

What do you think of the AEW wrestlers’ inclusion and CM Punk’s exclusions? Hit me up with a follow on Twitter

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How t...

If John Cena Beats Cody Rhodes he Technically Becomes an 18-Time World Champion

John Cena won the Elimination Chamber on Saturday night and secured an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania this April. What followed was a shocking heel turn that fans have wanted for years. That’s not what I’m talking about here. We’re talking about how John Cena will technically become an 18-time World Champion if he beats Cody Rhodes. That would put him two ahead of Ric Flair.  Ever since Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar to unify the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship. From that point on, WWE recognized Roman as having two Championship reigns. With the Universal Championship and with the WWE Championship. Same with Cody Rhodes when he beat Reigns for the Undisputed Championship at last year’s WresteMania. If you look at WWE’s website it shows two concurrent reigns for Cody.  If Cena beats Cody it’s always possible that WWE in the future recognizes this as one World Title reign instead of two. There’s a few of Flair’s reign...

Bobby Lashley Issues Warning to Jon Moxley

Bobby Lashley debuted in All Elite Wrestling on October 30th last year, rejoining his former WWE stablemates MVP and Shelton Benjamin, forming The Hurt Syndicate. Lashley and The Hurt Syndicate are one of the hottest acts in AEW right now with Lashley and Benjamin winning the World Tag Team Titles last month. It’s inevitable that Bobby Lashley will get a World Championship shot at some point. He’s very over right now and a legit main event talent.  Lashley gave a warning to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley when speaking to the Sporting Tribune . Lashley said it’s only a matter of time till they face off but he’s focused on his tag team right now. Lashley said that when Jon Moxley sees him in the locker room, he stays clear of him.  Despite being cheered like a babyface, Bobby Lashley is a heel and Jon Moxley is also a heel so I don’t see them facing off soon. But I like the idea of a Moxley/Lashley match whether it’s for the Title or not. Saying that, I’d also be a fan of Bo...
