Alberto Del Rio is Returning to AAA

One of the most controversial wrestlers still active is Alberto Del Rio. We haven’t seen him wrestle for some time but AAA announced he’ll be returning for them this year and participating in a couple of tournaments.

Del Rio has had legal issues and issues with promoters over the years, which has sullied his reputation. Del Rio is a technically gifted wrestler with the ability to carry a program verbally. However you could argue the controversy around him outweighs the positives he brings to the table.

Konnan clearly doesn’t feel that way. Talking to Wrestling Inc, he had this to say about booking Del Rio for AAA.

“Now, how long do I keep punishing him? He’s been out of the business two or three years. I spoke to him and he’s told me he’s changed. He sent me pictures of him in Christmas. He knows that we’re taking a big chance on him, and he’s under a microscope and a magnifying glass at the same time. We’re giving him another chance.”

I believe in redemption and I’ll fully admit when fantasy booking wrestling’s top free agents in my mind, Del Rio is a main-eventer. If there’s going to be a spot for him to come back, AAA is as good a place as any.

If John Cena Beats Cody Rhodes he Technically Becomes an 18-Time World Champion

John Cena won the Elimination Chamber on Saturday night and secured an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania this April. What followed was a shocking heel turn that fans have wanted for years. That’s not what I’m talking about here. We’re talking about how John Cena will technically become an 18-time World Champion if he beats Cody Rhodes. That would put him two ahead of Ric Flair. Ever since Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar to unify the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship. From that point on, WWE recognized Roman as having two Championship reigns. With the Universal Championship and with the WWE Championship. Same with Cody Rhodes when he beat Reigns for the Undisputed Championship at last year’s WresteMania. Bobby Lashley Issues Warning to Jon Moxley

Bobby Lashley debuted in All Elite Wrestling on October 30th last year, rejoining his former WWE stablemates MVP and Shelton Benjamin, forming The Hurt Syndicate. Lashley and The Hurt Syndicate are one of the hottest acts in AEW right now with Lashley and Benjamin winning the World Tag Team Titles last month. It’s inevitable that Bobby Lashley will get a World Championship shot at some point. He’s very over right now and a legit main event talent. Lashley gave a warning to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley when speaking to the Sporting Tribune . Lashley said it’s only a matter of time till they face off but he’s focused on his tag team right now. Lashley said that when Jon Moxley sees him in the locker room, he stays clear of him.
