Eddie Kingston has been sidelined with an injury and will not be able to appear as scheduled at New Japan Pro Wrestling's (NJPW) Collision in Philadelphia event. It isn't currently known what the injury is.
AEW and NJPW have been building up a partnership in recent months, with stars from both promotions appearing on each other's shows. Kingston, known for his tough-as-nails persona and hard-hitting style, was set to represent AEW in a singles match against Gabriel Kidd at Collision.
However, NJPW has announced that Kingston will be replaced by none other than fellow AEW star Orange Cassidy. Cassidy, known for his laid-back attitude and nonchalant approach to wrestling, is the current AEW International Champion. He will now face Kidd in a singles match at Collision.
But there's more at stake for Cassidy than just a victory over Kidd. On this week's episode of AEW Dynamite, Cassidy will defend his International Title against Buddy Matthews. If he successfully retains the championship, the match against Kidd at Collision will turn into an International Title Match.
Wishing nothing but the best for Eddie Kingston while he heals up from his injury. If we can find out more about his injury, we'll give it to you. Follow for more either here or on Twitter.
