Triple H Announces New World Heavyweight Championship on Raw

On tonight's WWE Raw, Triple H unveiled the new World Heavyweight Championship. A modernized version of the Title. The new Champion will be crowned at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia next month on May 27th. The winner will be determined in what will be a massive event for WWE.

Triple H, the first WWE World Heavyweight Champion introduced the new Big Gold Belt. Eric Bischoff gave Triple H the Title in 2002 in a move that the internet hated at the time. Triple H of course is most synonymous with the Championship.

What do you think about Triple H's announcement of a new World Championship? Sounds like WWE wants a Title to be defended every week. The Championship will be defended on whichever brand Roman Reigns isn't drafted to. At Night of Champions, the winner will be decided. I think Cody Rhodes has a great chance of being the inaugural Champion. Him or Seth Rollins would be perfect. Someone like Logan Paul or Austin Theory wouldn't be.

What are your thoughts on the announcement? I think it's pretty fun. We get a new World Title in the mix. If you catch my reaction, we're obviously not getting 3 World Titles. Although it would be sweet if they brought back the ECW Championship. Hit me up on Twitter or here to share your thoughts.

If John Cena Beats Cody Rhodes he Technically Becomes an 18-Time World Champion

John Cena won the Elimination Chamber on Saturday night and secured an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania this April. What followed was a shocking heel turn that fans have wanted for years. That’s not what I’m talking about here. We’re talking about how John Cena will technically become an 18-time World Champion if he beats Cody Rhodes. That would put him two ahead of Ric Flair. Ever since Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar to unify the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship. From that point on, WWE recognized Roman as having two Championship reigns. With the Universal Championship and with the WWE Championship. Same with Cody Rhodes when he beat Reigns for the Undisputed Championship at last year’s WresteMania.
