Will Hook Go to WWE?

Hook has more potential than almost anyone else in his generation. He's over with the audience and his wrestling is coming along quite well. Combine that with being a second generation wrestler and Hook could become a huge star in professional wrestling one day. Will that be with his home company All Elite Wrestling? A new report from SE Scoops says that Hook may look to explore his free agency at the end of the year. You would have to imagine that WWE will be interested if that's the case.

WWE making a big play to get Hook not only gives them a potential future World Champion but more importantly, takes one away from AEW. The current FTW Champion has been in a program with legendary grappler and eight time World Champion, Chris Jericho. A lot of fans feel like shouldn't be involved with Jericho given his track record with younger wrestlers over the past couple of years. I mean, I don't hate the storyline. People online need to stop acting like Chris Jericho isn't one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

Let's get back to Hook, would he actually go to WWE? I think he would. I know his dad Taz is working for AEW as a commentator but that shouldn't preclude him from going to WWE. Plenty of wrestlers have family in another company. Biggest example may be Cody and Dustin Rhodes.

I think the biggest question for Hook is whether or not he thinks the opportunity is better with WWE. WWE has a ton of young talent like Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes and Austin Theory to name a few. Would Hook would add to an already stacked roster as a wrestler with a ton of potential or would he get lost in the shuffle? Lexis King, the former Brian Pillman Jr is still looking to break out in NXT right now. It's a similar case for King as Hook. A second generation wrestler with potential that started off with AEW. King made the jump to WWE and he's being presented better than he was in AEW.

Or is it better to stick with AEW? A company that's invested in him, focused on him and given him opportunities to work with big names in wrestling. It could also be argued that Hook should be more of a consistent focus on their weekly programming. That he should be challenging for the TNT Title instead of continuing to defend the FTW Title.

Where do you think Hook should go? Would he get lost in the shuffle in WWE if he goes there? Will he ever breakout to be the main event player most think he can be? Give me your thoughts!

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
