WWE Teasing Surprise For NXT Stand & Deliver Countdown

It sounds like we’re getting a surprise at NXT Stand and Deliver’s Countdown show this Saturday. NXT Anonymous, an account run by WWE posted a video of Ava, the general manager of NXT on the phone. It’s a hidden camera video like we’ve seen the account post before.

Ava says to the mystery person that she’s excited for them to be joining the Stand and Deliver Countdown. This is leading fans to speculate as to who this mystery person is. Is it a big free agent signing for the brand? Maybe a big legend appearance? Maybe CM Punk? He’s shown an affinity for NXT before and is a master on the microphone.

What do you think this is leading to? Will it be something minor because it’s on the Countdown show? Or will it be something that is groundbreaking and really sets the pace for Stand and Deliver to be a historic show?

There’s speculation that it could be for a Bloodline member. After all, Ava is part of the Bloodline herself. She did seem rather excited on the phone as well. Although we couldn’t hear the other person, Ava did sound quite familiar with them. Could it be Lance Anoa’i? The son of Samu and a wrestler who’s wrestled on WWE TV before in defence of his cousin Roman. Anoa’i tweeted a tease earlier yesterday.

What about Jacob Fatu? The former MLW Heavyweight Champion who’s been described as possibly the most talented of the family. Fatu of course is the son of The Tonga Kid. Personally, I’d love to see this. I’ve been a fan of Jacob’s for years now. I see the potential monster star in him. It would be pretty awesome if it’s him.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
