Women's mixed martial arts legend Ronda Rousey is making her return to MMA. It was announced today that Ronda will be taking on fellow MMA legend Gina Carano on May 16th from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
It's been announced that the bout will be held at the 145 pound weight class. The event will be broadcasted on Netflix and is being promoted by Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotion.
A decade ago Ronda Rousey was the face of the UFC and one of the most talked about athletes on the planet. Hear last fight was in December of 2016, when she was knocked out quickly by Amanda Nunes. Nunes became a household name and Ronda left the UFC to pursue a career in WWE.
Carano in her own right is also viewed as a pioneer for women in mixed martial arts. She hasn't fought since she lost to Cris Cyborg in 2019.
Both women have trancensed MMA, landing several roles as actors in Hollywood. These are two of the biggest names in MMA from yesteryear. Who will come out on top on May 16th?
